[ he lets out a companionable little grunt in greeting as he slips onto the barstool next to hers like so many times before. he takes off his hat and sets it on his opposite side before reaching for a nearby glass and wiping it off on his jumpsuit. he looks like he just woke up. breakfast tequila? he grabs the bottle she has set in front of her and pours himself a few fingers with relative ease despite the low gravity, holding the glass at an angle so the liquid slides through the air in a perfect arc before splashing down into his glass. ]
[Elektra's idea of a greeting is simply to acknowledge his presence by looking at Miller and returning to her drink. She watches him with that tiny twinge of curiosity and envy as he pours his drink. That always looks cool to her. She kind of hates him for it!!] Show off.
Yeah, well, I have an unfair advantage. [ as well she knows. he takes a long sip to steady himself, closing his eyes for a moment but not reacting otherwise despite the burn. ] How long you been saving this seat for me, huh?
At least an hour. I couldn't let one of those animals get it. [She flashes one of her charm school smiles even if she kind of means it. The others tend to annoy her. Shocker.]
I guess I should be flattered, right? That I'm not in that category. [ he smiles, a little sharky. he thinks they get each other pretty well by now just from drinking side by side. ] You missed me, didn't you?
[Elektra nods, both eyebrows raised. Obviously everyone should be flattered to be in her good graces. She shrugs the rest. Like she's going to admit that!!! But, okay she kind of did.] You're decent entertainment. Besides if anything really interesting happens around here, you'd tell the class.
[ Amos doesn't wait for the rich spoiled girl. He doesn't even know her name, he realizes as he sets his collection of tools by the electric panel close to one of the doors. There's some sparks coming off of it, a quick and easy job that he could be taking care of in seconds, but he's waiting for her to get there, so he can show her, like he did Karen before.
Teaching more and more people how to do these things, to help out with random little fixes around the station - it's pretty major, in his opinion. Naomi would want him to do this, too, be a useful part of the community they have to be in, while on this station.
So here he is, twirling a screwdriver in between his fingers. ]
[ this is frank, showing up at 5.12 at some ungodly hour. max is beside him in his adorable mag-boots and somehow... elektra is the only person he can even think of facing right now. since leaving karen's room he feels like all he's done is haunt the station like a super lame beat-up ghost. but he needs a reprieve, maybe on some level he knows she does too. with his knuckles he raps a familiar message into the door, at least for him. she's probably not heard it before. it spells S-A-F-E in morse code. ]
[It's the morse code that catches her attention. She truly studied hard for her role in the war against the Hand. Of course she knows morse code. Elektra is filled with obscure knowledge that would aide her father in his quest to destroy them for good. Elektra sits up from the bed she's been haunting in order to silently pad over. She took a few good hits in their fight despite how adamant she was about his inferiority. It takes a little more effort than usual to move with graceful ease.
The door opens to reveal not one, but two lost dogs. Really only one of them is welcome even if Elektra made her point quite clearly across his face. Her eyes narrow at the sight of Frank and predictably soften at Max. It keeps her meaner comments in check though not by much.]
This isn't a shelter. If it was, I'd only take the good dog in. [That said, she's moving out of the way. Come in. You clearly want to.]
[ he takes the brunt of her gaze while he studies her face for damage. he'd made an effort to keep most of his blows to her body without knowing the strength he was inflicting on her, but there's still a nice bruise on her chin. his hand lifts, starting to move towards it before he realizes what he's doing. her words filter in belatedly and he frowns before trudging on in charlie brown style. max is much more personable, wagging his tail and circling her excitedly. I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN AT LEAST TWO MILLION YEARS!!!!! or like a week. maybe two. frank doesn't ask permission or say anything else he just beelines for her bed and flops himself on the end of it. ]
[It was for the best really. For all her dog comments, she wouldn't hesitate to snap at him if he touched it right now. It's been a very long time since someone actually managed to strike her hard enough in the face to leave a bruise. It's as humbling as it is annoying. She likes being able to weaponize her looks. Who likes a woman with a bruised face?
It's nothing meditation won't fix sooner rather than later. The sight of Max does a lot to soothe her anger. He's happy to see her the way no one else ever is. She leans down enough to touch his head affectionately before leading Max to the front of her bed so she can sit while giving him the attention he actually deserves.
Once she's seated, Elektra focuses her attention on Max. She scratches behind his ears affectionately even while continuing to pick a fight with his master.] Why are you here now?
[ frank watches her with max, something soft moving into his expression though he doesn't fully give into it. he sways a little, with his feet firmly planted on the ground, but he's careful not to touch her even incidentally. a long stretch of silence follows her question even though he knows the answer. there's really only one possible one anyway. ]
To see you. [ sometimes he really is the simplest man in the world ]
[She slows down her ear scratches into long pets of his head and neck. Elektra thinks she's getting the hang of what he likes best when Frank speaks up. One hand drops from the job as she glances at Frank. It's what she wants to hear so naturally she's suspicious and defensive.] Because I beat you for ignoring me? That wasn't a threat. I'm not going to hit you for doing it again. It's done.
[She'll stop expecting anything from him and steal moments with his dog. It's the mature thing to do.]
The hardest thing I've encountered here is alcohol. A couple of morons have cigarettes and announce it loudly to anyone who will listen in hopes of finding a lighter. I doubt either of those will help you if you're asking strangers who has what.
The good news is you picked the perfect time to withdraw. No one will even blink at someone sweating it out on the floor for a few days.
You also came to the right person too because I truly don't give a fuck who wants to get high around here. If it's life-saving drugs you need your best bet is to search the medbay for them. There's also some vampire who thinks he's a doctor who might be able to help you even if he's clearly doing a miserable job for everyone else.
This illness has been going on for a few days. The symptoms are all over the place and since we lack actual doctors we're pretty screwed at the moment.

for the record, the drugs aren't for recreation. i kinda need them to live. figured asking point-blank would cut through the bullshit and all.
how many people are actually sick anyway? this bug's been going on for a while now or something?
