I have two thoughts on this after our little meeting: the first is that clearly someone fucked up. I think whoever survived the 'end of the world' that woman was hinting at when we arrived kidnapped whoever they could feasibly get to fix their fuck up. Why else would we need to unlock this place like it's a big puzzle? Or the shuffling cast of kidnappees? They are preparing us to succeed where they failed.

The second is this truly is an experiment. We are being tested because some sick bastard with a god complex likes tormenting people. That's why the people keep changing. Maybe they're getting some decent data on us. Who could say? I am leaning towards the torment because only a complete bastard would look at that cute little girl trailing behind you and think 'I bet she'd be interesting to watch while I infect these poor idiots with disease and kill a few off for fun in gruesome ways.'

The final stage of the test will have us try to save the world we see outside. I'm guessing failing means we die like I suspect the last crew did.

Either way, they'll die when I find them so it doesn't matter.
